Services and Rates
Everything I.T. has a wide variety of services. Some of them are listed here. Our list of services is continuously growing. Not all services have been listed and you may possibly require a service that isn't listed. Please don't let that stop you from asking. Keeping our service list updated is a constant challenge. Clients often ask us to do something we haven't done before. That's how we learn and get better at what we do. We love to take on new projects, and often will not charge for, or include in the cost for, any "learning curve" that may be associated with a service that is new to us.
Many rates are listed under the description of a particular service, but as I said previously, there are services we perform which aren't listed. As well there are some services we just don't feel comfortable setting a price "in stone" for yet. In some casees we are still figuring out how much time and resources are involved in accomplishing a job, and haven't arrived committed to a set price in writing yet. In an effort to remain competitive and honest, we put a lot of thought in to our rates, and have in the past even 'under-quoted' our work, and we can't stay in business like that. Our hourly rate is as low as 30% of the industry standard. Most other I.T. consultants/Computer repair shops charge between $85-100 per hour.
Web Design Services
Create a new site. Fix an exhisting site. Build from a template, or code something custom. We have something for your budget!I would love to help you get your web site up and looking the way you want. Business, personal, blog, eCommerce, Wordpress, Joomla, Flash, simple or sophisticated. I would love to talk to you and give you an evaluation of your current site. If you aren't happy with it, you can get some small changes, or, we can start from scratch and give you exactly what you want from start to finish. We will sit down with you, and spend a couple hours getting all your input and laying it out just the way you want. Everyone has something they want to say to the world. Why not do it?
Our porfolio is growing. We have examples of some of the work we have done, but they are in no way a "complete" list of our capabilities. We have moved our portfolio to another page since there a few of them, and web design really needed it's own section. So if you are interested in our Web services, please have a look at the sites on the Website Samples page where our portfolio is. All the sites display different capabilities, and are all unique in their own way. Some are new, and some are really old, typifying our first attempts at designing web pages. But all the work is ours.
Sometimes you will see two listings for a site. That is because when I create a site for you, it will always be set up on a "testing" server so you can watch it being built. I keep them for awhile because sometimes clients change their sites, and what you see on their site may not be what "we" actually created. So when a site has two versions, be sure to compare them both for differences. (Some of the earlier sites don't have a testing server view)
Website prices vary immensely. They can cost anywhere from $300 to $3000 or more...so unfortunately we can not give a price on the web. Please contact Everything IT for a free consult. Also note that website prices are not paid all at once. For smaller sites, a 50% deposit is generally required to begin work. Larger sites are billed incrementally as the site is built. You will be able watch your site being built, and to view the fully completed site before making final payment.
Diagnostic Service
"Diagnose (troubleshoot what's the matter with) your machine"If you just want your machine diagnosed, and don't want Everything IT to repair it, the charge for a diagnostic service is $40. If I diagnose your machine, and you do decide you want me to fix it, that fee is deductible from the service cost. (So basically it's only a fee you need to worry about if I "don't" fix your machine.)

Editing/Writing services
We can proofread and edit anything you write and make it sound super professional!I've always had a gift for writing, but I never really liked it much. I take that back; I never "realized" I liked it much. When my first attempt at editing got my client published in a national magazine, I decided to add it as a service. I can take whatever you write, and turn it into a masterpiece! I also have a 30 year technical background in aerospace and manufacturing that will enable me to write or edit any of your policies and procedures or engineering documents with the detail and quality you require. My technical comprehension is unquestionably great in all areas.

Virus/Malware removal
"Removal of viruses, malware, rootkits, spyware, etc."There are many different types of repair procedures involving the removal of viruses, malware, spyware, rootkits, browser highjackers and other similar problems. Depending on the severity of the infection, AND the size of your hard drive (in combination with how much data is stored on it) it is often faster and cheaper to just reinstall the operating system. Virus removal without reinstalling the operating system is often very time consuming. It requires numerous scans of your machine, intense diagnostics and editing of your files and registry, etc. If we remove viruses from your machine, the price we charge will be a combination of a flat rate and our hourly rate. The fee ranges from $65 to $175. Our basic hourly rate is $30 per hour. If the machine is being serviced here in the shop, we try not to charge for the time the machine is just sitting there scanning but if we are working on your machine via a remote connection, or the machine doesn't run on it's own and the drive has to be removed and connected to one of our machines that doesn't apply. Also, if we come to your shop, house, or place of business, we will charge the full hourly rate for the number of hours we work on your machine. Remote connection charges sort of depend upon how much attention is required to do the removal during the remote session. The reason for the full hourly rate being charged at location is that local virus removal at the shop, more than one machine can be worked on at a time, or other things can be done while the machine is scanning. If we come to you, our time is dedicated to the inoperable machine.
you should understand that if you elect virus removal instead of a new operating system install, performance may still not be perfect. Occassionally viruses embed themselves in operating system files, and even after removal, the operating system can still have problems. There is no way to know this ahead of time. (how the machine will run after virus removal) We will attempt to scan the system files, and make sure they are all there, but this practice is not 100% guaranteed. If you choose virus removal instead of a new install because you need files saved, and you don't like how your machine runs afterward and then want your system scrubbed, we "may" offer you a discount on a operating system install, but this is not guaranteed, and you "could" end up paying for both services. We just can't give away extra services becuase our client didn't do a backup.
If you are trying to decide whether to have viruses removed, or whether to format the disk and reinstall the operating system, you can ask yourself a few questions: (1) Did you JUST NOW acquire ONE VIRUS that has VERY RECENTLY damaged your system (in the last 24-48 hours), or do you have a problem that has been getting increasingly worse over time and you have ignored it for weeks or months until it has become unbearable? If it is the first case, a virus removal may be a good idea. If you are in the latter category, it may be a good idea to start with a clean machine (and cheaper). (2) Do you know for sure you have a virus? Not all slowdowns are due to viruses. We can also "optimize" your machine (make it run better/faster) by editing the startup items, tasks, and services that run in the background. But this takes extra time, and we will only do it if you ask for it and agree to the additional charges.
So finally, it is not possible to tell you the exact cost of a virus removal. Some viruses are easy, and others are a bear to remove. It just depends on what you have, and the size of your drive. You basically have to go through the same process whether you have one virus or ten. It could cost you anywhere from $65-150. But we are very thorough. The $65 rate is if you get very lucky, only have one virus, and it turns out to be one of the very simple ones to remove and it takes 2 hours or less. But please be advised, this is not common, but is actually very rare. Please be assured that we are very honest, we diligently document labor start and stop times and all work involved in removing malware, and must charge accordingly. Most virus removals cost $90. Occasionally they are $65. And if you have severe permission and access issues with the machine it can cost even more. (I have some business machines where a franchisee can not even browse the internet on their own machines, have no AV passwords, etc. these cases are extreme, but they exhist.) And in the end, we will also educate you on how to keep from getting them in the future. New Operating System Installation
"Format the hard drive and perform a new installation of Windows/Leopard/Linux"First of all, if you think you have had a virus, we will either attempt to remove the virus, or we will "overwrite" the drive to make sure that the virus does not remain on/with the new install, including and especially the boot sector. (Formatting a drive does not erase it, it only removes the directory structure that allows access to it) Then we will partition and format the drive, and install the operating system. Installation includes installing all current drivers for all your devices (you should tell us about any peripheral devices that are not with the machine) as well as all updates and service packs necessary. Setting up and testing internet connections that are available is also included. We will also install some basic programs that every computer should have, like Adobe reader, Flash, Shockwave, Java runtime environment, some browser tools that prevent you from loading bad web pages that have bots on them, an internet security program if you have one, and if you don't we will put a trial version in for you. And we will probably install a messenger program and a program so we can connect remotely in the future (if desired and with your permission) and assist you with any problems. This is a very thorough and complete install. If you just want the operating system installed, and want to put your own drivers and updates, a different price can be negotiated. We can also install any of your additional software for a small additional fee. After all installations, we will also go in and remove any unnecessary start-up programs so your machine boots as quickly as possible.

Remote Services of Various Types
"The same as many other services listed, except service requires a long-distance remote connection to your computer"Many of the services we do can be performed remotely. This requires a remote connection to your computer. We can troubleshoot your system, perform system optimization (make it run better/faster), adjust system settings, set up your email accounts for you, network your computers together, online tutoring, there is an endless list of things that can be done remotely. But because remote services require 100% of our attention 100% of the time, some of the lower rates will not apply. Because of this "attention" factor, most remote services are billed at the hourly rate. Remote services have a 1 hour minimum charge whether the time involved is 5 or 60 minutes. After the first hour, service is charged by the minutes to insure you only pay for actual service time. Also, remote services must be paid in advance. New operating system installation can not be done remotely.

Buy a Service Contract.
Put Everything I.T. on retainer!!You can also put Everything IT on retainer. You can purchase a service contract. For $250 per year, you can buy a service contract which will allow you either up to 5 hours a month of phone time, remote connection repair services, drop off services for any machine you own, or even receive education or help doing ...just whatever. (an $1800 value!) Or you can register (1) machine and receive unlimited services. (without a "hours per month" limitation, which applies only if you have more than one computer) Repair contract services do not include parts or on site service calls or system upgrades. For business service contracts, contracts including on-site calls, or contracts for unlimited services for multiple machines, please request a quote. This is an extremely good deal if you do the math.

The "Pay Now" button selections do not list every billable situation that occurs. If you need to pay a different amount, you can use the button on the home page and enter any amount, or receive an invoice which you can then respond to. Also keep in mind that on-site calls are billed at a rate of $30-50 for the service call, plus an hourly rate of $30/hr. (1st hour = $60) Most on-site calls are $30 unless it is an exceptionally long driving distance, or a Sunday or Holiday. (which I am generally closed...but for a fee can be persuaded to come out to you. :-) ) Payment for services are to paid in advance, and any excess payment will be refunded to you if you purchase a larger block of service time than is necessary.
